While at the beach spending time with Daddy God, Tiffanie Keni-Emile noticed a young girl sitting alone. This girl had long hair covering her face, with her head down as she wrote on a notepad. Tiffanie felt a prompting in her heart to approach the girl, even though she didn’t know why. As she approached the girl on the beach, the girl looked up and said, “whaddya want?” Their eyes locked and Tiffanie saw the girls hurt and confusion.
Tiffanie began to speak words of encouragement; “I just want you to know that you are amazing. You are worth so much. You are worth more than you know. You are beautiful and I love you.” Realizing her blunder she tried to correct it by saying “I mean Christ loves you.. It’s Christ’s love that .. Jesus loves you so much” she stammered. Embarrassed and sure that she had blown it with this girl, she said “ok I’m going for a swim now” and ran off towards the water.
She was swimming by herself when the girl came to the waters’ edge where Tiffanie was. She stood watching her swimming and giggling and splashing around in the waves like a little kid. Tiffanie looked up and was shocked to see her watching. “Why are you so happy?” the girl asked. Tiffanie didn’t say a word. She just pointed to the sky, then put her hands over her heart and smiled at her. The girl smiled back and Tiffanie nodded her head. The girl laughed and said how funny it was to see someone swimming alone and having such a good time. Then she suddenly got serious and said, “No one has ever stopped to say anything nice to me. No one’s ever told me they loved me. No one’s ever told me I am beautiful. Thank you.”
Tiffanie signalled to the girl to come closer and pulled her in for a hug. The girl burst into tears. Tiffanie told her about Jesus and His love for her. The girl opened up to her and told her she was a Christian believer. She was just struggling. As she turned to leave she handed Tiffanie a note and with a big smile said “I guess I won’t be needing this anymore. It’s just been answered”.
This is what the note said:
I can’t stand this anymore. So much has happened in my life. Where have you been?
You said You always loved me but I never see it. People are afraid of me. They can’t even look me in the eye. For once I would love for someone to see me for who I am inside rather than look at my scars. For once I would like to live a normal life without anyone staring at me.
Why am I even writing this to You? DO YOU EVEN EXIST?”
At the exact moment that this young girl was writing a letter to God, He was already giving the answer to the question in the form of Tiffanie. This encounter has encouraged Tiffanie to share the love of Christ on the streets with confidence! Although she felt like she made things awkward when speaking to the girl, God still used her. The verse He gave Tiffanie in this situation was Galatians 2:20:
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me”
